It is and people don't know about Sun Dial. Return Journey is a faaaar out record from this little known Neo Psych band from the '90s. Someone at Relapse Records liked it so much they rereleased it in '06, go BUY IT but don't be afraid of wahwah! I have both versions of the Return Journey LP, love playing it while DJing...
Oh yeah, the main dude from Sun Dial Gary Ramone played most of the parts on the records, whata ruler, I know it bugs some people, but i love they way some guitar players play bass, like Gary.
i put on Other way out/in (relapse rereleased these too) this morning and i still like Return Journey better---waaay heavier and less noodley and old timey.
(i'm going for the most reply record here!) Zac, i know it's rudementary to many, but i still think there's a lot of dudes that listen to more modern heavy bands that haven't listened to Spacemen 3 which started most all these other neo phych bands back in the mid '80s and has an infinite reach as far as influence today. They were huge MC5, Stooges, Roky Erikson, and Suicide fans. They were WAY diven by heroin and have a lot of different stuff from heavy drone, to real blissful, to dirty blues (i guess). Check out Taking Drugs to Make Music to Take Drugs to, or Transulsent Flashbacks, or the Perfect Prescription comp. Again, basics for some, if not try it out. I'll shut up now.
100% with you,the history of obscure rock must be learned, find the thread that connects what you dig. for some music snobs (like grant and steve) sabbath is just a scratch on the surface,of what lies beneath.
DUE TO CONFUSION,SHIPPING COSTS,MY OWN IGNORANCE,I'M ONLY SENDING OUT ORDERS IN THE U.S.A. ONLY. IF YOU WANT A BIG ORDER AND YER OUTSIDE THE U.S.A. E-MAIL ME.
